NFL combine athletes from Winter 2006!
Zach Putnam
University of Michigan
Baseball
The FAST Program was very fortunate
to have the opportunity to train Zach Putnam throughout his
entire high school career. For the past
six years, Zach would
take breaks from the cold
weather in Michigan and make the trip down to Boca Raton during
his winter breaks, spring breaks, and for a couple of weeks in
the summer to come and train. Over the years we have made great
strides with Zach, making sure that
he maintains his speed and explosiveness as he grew into his 6’
2” 210 lb. frame.
Zach led Pioneer High School
(Ann Arbor, MI) to the 2004 state championship with a 9-0
record. During that season he had an astonishing ERA of 0.53
allowing only 9 hits. At the plate, Zach had a .466 batting
average, 55 hits, 16 homeruns and 67 RBI’s, which demonstrates
his power. He also showed his speed with 6 triples and stealing
25 bases. All of these accomplishments led to him being named
2005 Baseball America 1st Team High School
Preseason All-America.
At Michigan, he is projected as
the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in
Baseball America's 2006 Big Ten baseball preview,
considered the top newcomer in the conference,
and was rated as having best fastball in
Big Ten in 'best tools' portion of Baseball America preview.
In June, 2005 he was
selected by the Detroit Tigers 2005 Major League First Year
Player Draft.
David Adams
University of Virginia
Baseball
David
Adams started training at Cris Carter’s Fast Program 2 summers
ago. David, a Boca Raton native, has led Grandview Prep in
almost every major hitting category. Last year he had a .464
batting average, 26 hits, 11 doubles, 3 triples, 2 home
runs, 25
RBI’s, and 17 stolen bases. All of this while still maintaining
a 4.0 GPA. David is nationally recognized by Baseball
America as “polished hitter with a balanced swing and good
leverage.” At the FAST Program, we helped him improve his
speed, agility, power, and even bat speed. David was a big fan
of our hitting cords and would not miss a chance to strap them
on and get his swings in at the end of every session. All of
his hard work paid off, earning him 2005 Baseball America
1st Team High School Preseason All-America.
David
trained with
us this summer to prepare himself for his first year at the
University of Virginia. We wish him the
best of luck in his first season for the Cavaliers.
Mike
Doss
Indianapolis Colts
Defensive Back
Mike
trained with FAST for his preseason workouts before
the 2004 season. During his career, Mike has 169
solo tackles and
5 interceptions,
pairing with teammate Bob Sanders to make one of the more
dominating safety tandems in the NFL. A four year starter at Ohio State, Mike achieved
All-American status in each of his final 3 years.
As a senior,
Mike led Ohio State to a national championship in the 2002 Fiesta
Bowl, earning Fiesta Bowl MVP honors.
While at
FAST, Mike improved his first step explosion, speed, agility,
and overall conditioning. Mike also participated in the
functional workouts with other professional and collegiate athletes
that train with FAST.
With the help
he received from FAST, Mike
has transformed himself into a dominant
player in the NFL.
Dan
Morgan
Carolina Panthers
MLB
Dan Morgan
trained at FAST his senior year at JP Taravella High School
in Coral Springs prior to attending the University of Miami.
He returned to FAST in
2004 in order to improve his
speed and agility.
Dan was
selected by Carolina with the 11th overall pick in the 2001
NFL draft after posting one of the most impressive senior years
in University of Miami football history. A three year captain
he culminated his college career by becoming the first player
ever to win all three of the college football’s defensive
awards available to linebackers; the Butkis, Bednarik and Nagurski.
He has carried his success and domination over into the NFL
becoming an integral part of the 2003 NFC Champion Panthers.
Dan knows that his training at FAST
has helped him excel in the NFL. We
congratulate Dan on his outstanding season and wish him the best
of luck in the future.
Vince
Spadea
Originally
from Chicago, Vince Spadea, now a resident of Boca Raton,
has been training with FAST since the summer of 2003. Vince
trained at FAST in an effort to improve his speed and agility
and keeps making strides in the professional tennis ranks. His
highest ranking came in February of 2005
when he was ranked #18 in the world.
He was also
a part of the 2004 USA Men’s Tennis
Olympic Team.
